In The Rhythm

A PRACTICE LOG FOR MUSICIANS

Practice logging built for the way your brain works.

In The Rhythm is a practice log for musicians, specially catered to those with ADHD, autism and dyslexia, and for the teachers who work with them.

Start a timer, play, write a line about how it went. That is the whole thing.

ITR is in private beta and is not on the App Store yet. If you teach, or if your child might use it, write to support@intherhythm.org.

What one session looks like

You stop the timer, answer two short questions, and you are done. Nothing else is required before you close the app.

No streaks to break

ITR counts days practised. It never counts days missed. A quiet week dims a few dots. Nothing else changes.

Your teacher sees only what you send

There is no messaging, no search and no way for an adult to find a musician in ITR. The only path is a six-character code that the musician generates and reads aloud to their teacher.

Once connected, your teacher will be able to read every session you submit, including your notes and reflections. Drafts are never shared. Expires in 22 hours.

Accessibility is the product, not a settings screen

Four themes ship with the app. Every one of them is tested for contrast, and colour never carries meaning on its own.

Classic Warm off-white
Parchment Dyslexia-friendly
High contrast Maximum legibility
Ocean Low-glare blue
  • OpenDyslexic font, with wider letter spacing and taller lines
  • Text scaling at 80%, 100% and 115% across every screen
  • Reduce motion removes animation instead of shortening it
  • 44pt minimum touch targets, everywhere, with no exceptions

For parents

ITR is for musicians aged 13 and over. A musician under 18 cannot finish signup without confirming that a parent or guardian has read the terms and the privacy policy and agreed that they may use In The Rhythm. Nothing about that confirmation is stored.

There is no messaging in ITR, no search, and no way for an adult to find a musician. A teacher can only connect through a six-character code the musician generates and gives them.
